not bad

Short and sweet, could obviously use some polishing in the final product. The synth meldies are creative and interesting. Almost has a touch of western in it.

The bass synth sounds good, and the high synth blends well with it. The bass drop was good, but idk about the percussion. Seemed to be really lacking in the percussion department in my opinion. I'd opt for more of a dnb percussion personally, but it's whatever.

Overall not a back WIP. I'd like to hear the finished product.

Decent sound you got here. I like the muffled percussion and the pads. They mix together well. Very ambient and cool.

Biggest problem with this song, it's too short. I'd definitely consider extending this if you want to improve it. The song is great, but just too short to be fully enjoyable.

Overall a good start though. Honestly not much else I have to say about it.

Thanks for the review i'm glad you like it i guess i colud extend it

Not bad

I like the sound of it quite a bit. Really bouncy and fast paced. The synths are good, and the percussion mixes well, but I find myself wishing it was longer.

My favorite songs are ones like these where you can't grasp the layers because it's all too ridiculous and fast to really think about the production.

I wish my Mondays were like this :(

Overall I'd be happier with this if it was longer. Just seems a bit short-lived, great sound though.

Hades responds:

Yeah, having a Monday like this one would probably be mad fun all around! ;) Thanks for the comment!

Not bad

Named rather appropriately in my opinion. Sounds like a zombie dance to me. The piano was a nice touch indeed, and the guitar effects sound good mixed in.

The solo was pretty solid to me. The melodies are good. Would work good in a flash movie for sure. Percussion seems pretty solid. I think the bass could be beefed up a bit though.

Not much else to say about it really. Good work.

Your vocals aren't bad, and the lyrics are okay. The guitar is decent, but the song is pretty devoid of any percussion or bass. It's a good rough draft, but if you wanted to just leave this by itself you might want to record it and mix it a bit better.

Overall it's a decent rough recording, but as it stands it just feels a bit empty. The guitar melody is decent, but it just doesn't feel like a guitar and vocals only song. Maybe some mixing and recording would help that....either that or some bass and drums.

Well I know this is your first track and all, but I like the sound a lot. The melodies are very uplifting and sound great. The percussion sounds good and really fresh.

There's a couple points where the track is a bit boring and could use some transitions and filler, but I like where you're going.

I like that you at least made this long enough to listen to, I just think you need to expand upon what you've learned and make some new stuff. Love the direction you're going in though.

Overall a great first track. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Cool. Expect more from me then.

Unsolved mysteries? I got a good laugh out of that for some reason. I just don't picture Robert Stack when I hear this. A few parts were a bit mysterious sounding though, lol.

Idk about being in the ambient category, I think it belongs in miscellaneous quite well actually. Doesn't really seem to fit any genre. It jumps all over the place and sounds really experimental.

The different sections could have used some better more gradual transitions I suppose, but they were interesting to listen to and very different....unlike most I've heard. So I'll give you points on originality.

The outro was good for sure. Probably my favorite part of the song, I liked to sound to that a lot. I might consider changing some of the percussion a bit to some more electronic sounding percussion, but that's just me. Then you could easily throw it in the....oh wait....there is no 'Electronic' genre. Well I guess you're screwed, lol.

Overall a decent experimental track.

WizMystery responds:

I'm not done with this, dispite it being the longest thing I've uploaded since... well... ever. I think I might actually be able to finish this.

The jumps won't be there, this version is a prototype meant to establish the themes (and now that I've reached an end, I'd say all the themes are written). If you enjoyed them, I'm sure you'll enjoy this even more when finished.

Thanks for the review!

It's alright

Well it's certainly innovative and different so I give you props on that. The higher dub wobbles are something I haven't heard before actually, and they sound alright.

The main thing I noticed is that the percussion could use beefed up quite a bit. The lower wobbles sounded great and the pitch changes were smooth. The repetitive high pitched melody was a bit excessive and not all that melodic in my opinion.

Other than that it's a decent tune. Could use a bit of work, but not bad.

EricFreeman responds:

Thanks for listening! Yeah, this was actually my first attempt at wobbling something so that's why it's fairly repetitive and not amazing. I was still getting used to automating between several different wobble speeds and some other weird stuff like that.

But yeah, thanks for the informative review!

Awesome

I think this is a bit too relaxing and I'll have to stop it before I fall asleep too early, lol. Almost sounds like a meditation track, only not as cheesy and lame. Would be great to fall asleep too.

All the instruments are very soothing and flow together well. My eyelids are seriously like getting heavy trying to type a review lol.

The different percussion sounds and other sound effects like the water were mixed really well and all blend together in a very calming manner.

Awesome track. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, ambient music can really knock you out. That's why it is great for meditation.

Nice

It indeed has a very RPG sound to it. Almost like the games area in Zelda: Ocarina of Time is what I'm picturing.

The instruments sound good, and the melody is just all over the place. This composition is far from boring to say the least.

The intro and outro were appropriate and sounded concise and to the point, but worked. I'm impressed with how well all the melodies blend together, considering how busy they sound. It actually does work and sounds like one coherent tune.

Great work here, keep it up.

Hi Seed, thanks for the great review, glad you enjoyed!

I believe you didn't read the author's comments, because I unfortunatelly didn't compose this song, these honors go to mr. Jacques Brel, a Belge musical genius.

As for the comparison with Ocarina of Time, more precisely Song of Storm, you're not the first to mention it, and you probably won't be the last, for this really has it's similarities!

Thanks again for the review, I'm happy to see you enjoyed the song!

Cheers,
Samuel Hébert
