Yes

Oh yes, I like this one a lot. This will be the 3rd track of yours I've downloaded. The whole track flows just amazingly. It's epic and probably the best song I've heard from you. Your style is awesome, keep up the good work.

The only criticism I can think to give this is that it's not as long as I wish it was and it seems like you kinda copped out on the ending. Not a very creative ending or intro for that matter. I suppose if you worked on those a bit it would be perfect. Keep up the good work!

MobiusIII responds:

I appreciate the review! Yeah, I wish this one was a bit longer too, listening to it again. I have this fear of my songs being too repetitive (which is weird since I'm into electronica 'n stuff) - thats probably why I close it out so soon.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the compliment!

Nice

Pretty good, the panning at the beginning was a nice touch, and the drum beat is pretty standard dnb but it sounds good. I like your style quite a bit and this is more of the same. The drums and first synth are amazing, when they come in it's just sick.

At about :50 you switched it up quite a bit. The new synth melody was good, although I really didn't like the crazy bunched notes at the end of the riff, and then the synth after that I think sounds terrible. Just sounds deep and echos a lot, but when it goes back into the beginning beat it's awesome again.

The ending wasn't really anything special and I think could have used some work. Other than that this track has some parts that are pure gold and others that I don't like so much. Overall great though, keep at it!

MobiusIII responds:

Ha its awesome that you took time to review all my songs! I consider this song a kind of 'happy accident' lol, so its definitely not perfect. If I were to go back, i would give this one some higher quality drums and a better bridge part.

Again, thanks for the review !

Hmm

I would have to agree with Chronamut. It seems like you're mixing moods here. The nice chill sounds with totally blatantly crazy sounding stuff. It seems to kinda conflict a bit. I would have to say you should pick one style per song and just stick with that, or at least ride it out for a bit.

Other than that, the song still sounds pretty good. It's enjoyable to listen to without the bloopy delayed synth as it's been labeled, lol. All of the other calming noises in the background, as well as the percussion, sounded great. The last 30 seconds were especially enjoyable, although I'm not sure if the voice at the beginning and end were really warranted for a song like this.

Just seems a bit all over the place. I'd expect voices like that in some crazy loud trance song. Other than that, a good tune, keep up the good work.

MobiusIII responds:

I'm glad you took the time to check this one out - despite its flaws, its one of my favorite things I've done. The voices are from the computer lady that loves to tell you when your shutdown sequence has initiated in the game Mechwarrior 2. The background melody that comes in at :46 is from the game soundtrack as well!

Nice

Well I certainly like the other version a lot better. That's the one I've been playing in the car for awhile and it's so chill I love it. Wish I could re-review it and rate higher. This one is much of the same, but you've made some pretty significant changes, but I don't really think they sound very good. The other one just had this chill dnb vibe throughout the whole song and this one has some strange noises that just don't really seem to fit that mood.

I like what you did at the very end, but before that I thought it sounded a bit weird. Overall the mix is fantastic. It's a great track, but I prefer the other mix of the song over this one. Nonetheless, keep up the good work!

MobiusIII responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed the guitar thing at the end - I wanted to try and give the song a more climactic conclusion, which depending on tastes may clash with the chillness. The other version keeps its flow better - i agree.

More to come soon! Eventually....

Well

Well the intro was just awesome right off the bat, that bass line is sick. The strange noises after that all seemed to blend right in and sounded good alongside it. After that bit it got a bit silent and you added some really industrial sounding synth that I'm not a big fan of. The notes really didn't sound all that musical to me either. The background percussion is okay, but nothing really spectacular.

Eventually later in the song you picked up the drums a bit which was nice to hear right before the break. The piano really didn't seem all that touching, and you just added it in with the previous beat that I didn't really care for. The different warping effects sound great with it though. It was a relief to hear those.

Shortly after that the beat really took a turn for the better. When you dropped that bass line it was really refreshing to hear. The piano all the sudden seemed to fit, and the new synth line was great, and then it was over. The ending was different and kinda cool, at least you did something for it.

It would probably fit well with a madness submission as you requested, but it's nothing I'd really listen to on my iPod or anything. I'd say overall it's nothing fantastic, but it's not terrible either and probably better suited for a flash submission rather than just listening to it alone. Keep at it.

KroweMusic responds:

Yeah, this song was intended to be used in flash movies, even though it was never used in one :( I still like to listen to it every now and then just cause I think it's pretty awesome :P

Anyway, thanks for the review :)

Nice

I think this was pretty well composed. It certainly sounds like something industrial like a big factory creating robots. Personally it's nothing I'd ever really listen to voluntarily, but I think it would be a fantastic contender for a flash for robot day.

The skipping effect was really good, and the main synth line sounded very robotic and blended well with the factory background noise. I'm not a big fan of the bass line really. I think you could have done more with it really.

Other than that a decent tune. The intro and the ending were both done very well. Keep up the good work.

wtf

Weird as hell, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it creativity. You're right this song is mostly just noise and sounds experimental. It's not very musical, but definitely a bit disturbing and interesting. Sounds very dark, and the ending especially does although I think it was a nice touch.

Like I said in another review I wrote to you, I think you have loads of potential. Not everybody can/does create this kinda twisted shit but it's definitely interesting to listen to and I appreciate it. If you can find a way to make these a bit more musical I think they would sound better, but as it stands it's still a decent track I think. Keep up the good work.

Oh shit

Wow, this is some straight aphex twin type shit, only even more evil. I love the industrial sound it has to it and you really pulled off the creepy feel without being cheesy. The voices sound absolutely terrifying and awesome. When you added the beat it just got a whole hell of a lot sicker. This is some straight wicked shit right here.

I think if you expanded upon this a bit, it could be a straight 10. The intro, synths throughout the song, voices, and beats were all fantastic. I give you mega points for originality and being creative.

I think it's pretty cool that you combined these two songs because they actually compliment each other quite well. I couldn't even really tell when they switched. It just sounds like one awesome evil beat.

Overall I love the sound you've put together here. Everything about these trippy acid sounds is great. Keep it up. More of this please.

ZLEAP responds:

Your input on this is greatly appretiated and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm currently in a situation where I can't produce anything new but as soon as I can I will get back to work. Thanks for listening and don't be shy. Tell your friends about me. Hell, tell people you dont even like. I could use the help whoring my music out to the masses.

Nostalgia?

Jesus what pokemon game is this from? Am I that old already? Nostalgic would be one of the first games right? Man, lol, maybe I am getting old...

I played the games but I've never heard this before, but it sounds musically correct. The synths have a nice pleasant tone and compliment each other nicely. The song has a nice length to it, and the whole song is very calming to listen to.

I'd give you originality points just on the simple fact that I haven't even seen this done before, so it can't really be that overdone. Anyway, good work with this. Sounds like it would be a great listen in any RPG game. Keep it up.

Radidsh responds:

Last time I checked, there were three other projects related to that original track here on Newgrounds, indeed.

This is from the starting zone of Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal (second generation).

Thanks for the nice comment. ^^

Decent

It's a decent cover, although not very long. The first thing I would say is that it should be a bit longer. The beginning was awesome and I loved the sounds I was hearing but it seemed a bit out of place when it just changed suddenly. The synths were pretty cool sounding and the percussion was alright.

This doesn't really sound like anything extraordinary per se, I mean it's not original, it's short, and there really isn't a whole lot going on. I'd still say it's an okay cover, just nothing I'd ever listen to voluntarily. It would probably be a great contender for a flash video though.

Nonetheless, keep up the good work, and enjoy your new keyboard.

Birdinator99 responds:

I shall enjoy :D

This was more or less an experiment I didn't want to spend too much time on. As for being out of place, I guess I could agree a little there. It's always nice to get different opinions so I can improve my work!

Thanks very much for listening!
