lol

This totally sounds epic. Right away I remembered that you were the same artist that made the desert tune. Seems like you kinda have a certain sound I suppose. I could totally see this being used in a flash game menu or flash movie. It sounds like a bunch of soldiers gearing up for an epic battle. Like I can see them waving to their families as they sail out of distance to war, or something like that, lol.

This does sound a bit generic, but I think that's probably a good thing because I don't think many people could pull off that generic battle sound that you have here. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! Yeah this and the new version of Desert Journey were done after a recent upgrade to my system. New sounds and hardware. Thanks for taking the time to write so much for the review man!

Well

Right off the bat the guitar riff is awesome. The beginning vocals are a tad bit quiet and not as clear as they should be. As a matter of fact the audio quality really isn't that clear either, but it's not like I expect you to have a producer or anything...

The song has potential I'd say, it just needs to be produced. Like I said, the beginning guitar riff is pure gold, and the lyrics don't seem too cheesy either, they seem alright. You seem to have a good singing voice too, I just don't think this recording does justice at all.

When you get to the chorus I wouldn't strum the guitar harder either, just seems kinda pointlessly dramatic for a chill song like this. I do like the song name though, hybrid rainbow totally sounds catchy. Hopefully some of this feedback helps you. Keep up the good work.

Ryanson responds:

The reason I strummed it harder was I though I'd be going all out, screaming, during that part. When I didn't... it was too late to go back with starting everything over. Still, I thank you for your honest review!

wtf

Well I would say you definitely accomplished your mission. This is extremely weird sounding with all the elements that you put into it, but you seemed to blend it all together decently.

Not really my type of thing, but you totally pulled it off I would say.

TheUprising1 responds:

Thanks!
And lol, this was actually my first song I started with the concept "Let's see how many genres I can fit in one song". Alot of them, apparently. xD

Not bad

It's a decent song and very easy to just chill and space out too. That's pretty much what I did the whole time I listened to it. This is totally not my type of music at all, and I usually don't get into it, but this is a beautiful piece, very easy to listen to.

Keep up the good work.

TheUprising1 responds:

Thank you, I definitely will!
This was supposed to be a chill song anyways, good thing it worked, lol.

Ehh

The phaser/flanger is just so overpowering I can't even hear anything else going on really. I would seriously consider turning that down a bit if I were you. The piano sounds great, it's just so muffled by the WOWOOWOWOWOWOOW of that flanger after every guitar strum.

To me it almost sounded like listening to a phaser for 3 minutes, which isn't very original sounding.

Woah

The beginning riff is great but it sounds like you cranked the volume up WAY too high and it's just distorted as hell and sounds awful. The weird noises in the background are kinda distracting as well. Other than that, I CAN hear a beautiful trance song playing somewhere in the madness ;)

Like the guy below me said, "Well composed but not brilliantly produced." I don't think I can put it much better than that. The insane amount of clipping is really distracting. I think if you cleaned this up it would be an easy 9 or 10 track.

Phyortek responds:

I will definitly definitly give it more work, and thanks for the amazing review :-)
I was trying to give my lead a sharp sound, but it cracks and is a little offensive...
Gotta work a little more...

Thanks again

Not bad

Not that I walk around listening to desert music all day long, but if I did I'd probably have this playing. You captured the feel really well and I could totally see this playing in one of those mummy movies.

Not really much else I can say about this. Keep up the good work.

BrokenDeck responds:

Hey, The Mummy, and the composer for it, Jerry Goldsmith, was one of the inspirations behind this piece.

Not bad

Parts of the song sounded really boring and unoriginal sounding, but you also had some amazing parts. The wob wob was really good. The part like at 2:55 where you had both beats going was just awesome. I really would have liked to hear more of those two beats together and less of the other shit because that part is just awesome.

Sounds like you got the wob down though so keep up the good work. Oh and the voice totally didn't bother me at all...sounded kinda cool actually.

superuberinsaneausm responds:

thanks,but what parts sounded boring?

Hell?

Idk about hells corridors. This reminds me of a game where you'd be creeping around maybe in a haunted place or a zombie infected deserted town, but hell? Okay, maybe, lol. Some parts seem to fit the description but the super quiet parts I don't really see as being hell. Anyway, to the track...

I think you did a really great job of capturing the quiet and creepy feeling with this, it sounds like a place where you would have evil ghosts for sure. Not something I'd voluntarily listen to again, but I wouldn't mind at all if somebody threw this in a creepy game - it would be perfect.

mikkim responds:

Yeah, I wasn't really aiming at the traditional image of hell... I was aiming for a creepier version of it.

7/10

The Daft Punk influences are really obvious, and you pulled them off well. I don't think the main riff is really all that catchy, but it's okay I suppose. Most of the sounds you used sounded good, they just didn't seem to blend all that well if you ask me.

I think all in all it's not something I'd voluntarily listen to but I wouldn't mind hearing it in a club or something.

I develop stuff.
