Not bad

Definitely suits the Halloween theme better than some other submissions I've heard, but overall the track sounds very amateur. None of the melodies are overly catchy and the instruments don't seem to blend together very well. The slowdown at the end was a nice touch though. It's cool that you switched it up quite a bit during the track, and it has a decent spooky sound to it especially at the beginning, but it's just not all that moving overall I wouldn't say. It just seems like some of the instruments that come in don't really match the initial spooky theme and seem a bit uncalled for. Keep at it though.

Radidsh responds:

I am grateful for the constructive feedback, thank you. The ending part is my favourite part of this song.

I hope that I will improve more on my next project. =)

Not bad

Interesting to say the least. I give you extra points for being original and not sounding like everybody else nowadays. The saw didn't sound terrible to me, it seemed to blend with the mood and the rain rather well. The flute not so much, and probably the part that turned me off to this was the random pauses in between melodies where it was just raining. Seemed like an awkward moment or something, like there should have been some kind of transition there or something. Still props on originality. Keep up the good work.

Birdinator99 responds:

Yeah, I honestly can't say I was thinking straight for most of this one XD

Original, perhaps, but 8/10 is pretty generous for this, so I thank you!

Nice

Yeah, the effort really does show. It sounds great honestly. I'm not into the happy hardcore crazy fast stuff at all really but I think you pulled it off quite well. Most of this totally sounds like something that would go with a madness flash, lol. Krinkels seems to like this kinda stuff.

I just realized that I'm writing this and just passing only 3 minutes into the song O.O

Well, to be totally honest, the next three minutes didn't seem to be all that moving to me. The first 3 were golden, in my opinion. Definitely a great remix though, and it shows that you have talent and spent time on this. Keep up the good work.

Dj-GST responds:

Thanks man.

This isn't Happy Hardcore, it's UK Hardcore, the evolution of Happy.

Yeah, the last 3 mins don't have as much energy, but I had to put an ambient part in somewhere :P

I'm glad you enjoyed this man.

Thanks a bunch for the review.

Nice

Certainly sounds appropriate for Halloween. Doesn't sound like true dubstep bass to me, but definitely a good start. All of the instruments of the song seem to blend together really well, so I can tell you have talent in music. It's not bad overall, but nothing really special either. I mean it's nothing I'd listen to voluntarily, but a good start for a work in progress. I don't think the synth riffs are all that catchy, but the drums sound really good. Unfortunately I don't think this would work well for any Halloween submissions I can think of really...just more of a random Halloween dubstep song really, lol. A good effort nonetheless, keep up the good work.

Not bad

I would have to say after listening to this that drums are definitely your strong point. I love the drums throughout the entire song, the variations and randomness to them really made the song for me. Some of the other aspects not so much. The bass riff and synth riffs I didn't find all that catchy, I mean, they're alright they just don't seem to stand out too much. The beginning is interesting though, and towards the middle you added some crazy almost dubstep sounding bass, which was really a nice touch.

I think the piano sounds kinda out of place especially, but most of the other riffs seem to blend together pretty well. The riff and notes aren't anything completely amazing, but good nonetheless. I think you have potential and you should keep making music and you will improve. Especially since your drums are so sick. Keep up the good work.

ranter responds:

I really appreciate your effort in reviewing my song!!
And you are right about the melody it's kind of bland that's why i tryed spicing it up with all these different things.

Also i just love experimenting!

The piano's are pretty but i get what you mean, since the rest of the song is pretty much sounding midi/bit/nintendoish. I'll try and have a look into that!

Also check out my newer song wich is a remix of Pachabel's Canon. it's not finished but i really need feedback on it!

Thanks!

Not bad

Seems like you have a lot of talent in making this kind of music. I'm not a huge fan of it, but this sounds great and seems to flow really well, although what sounds to me to be the trumpet is a tad too loud and stands out a lot from the other instruments a bit too much. The beat itself is nice, and overall pleasant though. I don't listen to enough Jazz to give you a really great opinion, but from an outside one, it sounds pretty damn good. The ending sounded a bit off, I think because of the drums. They just didn't quite seem to match the rest of the piece at all and sounded very electronic to me. Other than that though, not bad.

It's nice that you put in the effort to make this a full song. Almost 5 minutes is nice to see, and nice to listen to. Keep up the good work.

camoshark responds:

Thanks for the review!

I did this arrangement real quick as it was supposed to simply be a backing track for a homework solo (I go to performing arts schools), but decided to post it as a complete song.

Being a backing track, the main theme was meant to stand out. I guess turning it into a full song, I forgot to EQ it acordingly.

For the ending, i totally agree. I wrote down the chords as writen, and when we play it it sounds ok, but when I write it down it sounds off... Don't know what to say about that, I guess the VI's are to blame.

Great to see you enjoyed, it's pretty much my intention when I post something here, other to get some feedbak along the way!

Cheers

Hmm

Was the skipping part intentional? It was certainly interesting, but really didn't sound all that musical, especially not for a trance song, which is all about blending and flowing. I can tell that you put a lot of effort into this, and I enjoy all the different instruments and effects you used, but overall I don't think it's all that moving really. Just seems kinda like fast paced trance insanity, which sounds exactly like all the other trance songs. It just doesn't seem to stand out from every other trance song is what I'm saying.

At the end, or the end of the piece you submitted, you added some really cool sounds and I liked those, but then it ended. It's a shame that you didn't submit the whole track here instead, instead it's a demo or snippet of something you will release in the future it looks like. Cool I suppose, but it's too bad that this isn't the full version of the song. So I can only give you my take on this 'preview'. I'm sure the actual full song is more enjoyable. Keep up the good work though, as it's obvious you have plenty of people that enjoy your sound and you're obviously talented.

Nice

Well there was a point where I was actually feelin this. I suppose the fact that you sound amateur kinda adds style to it. The beat seemed to match really well at some points and not at others. The first verse was pretty much the shit. You need to work on your flow a little bit, but I think this sounded better than some of your other stuff I listened to, not sure why though. It's hard to explain why but the first verse seemed to blend really well with the beat, and I could feel the emotion in what you were saying, but after that it seemed to disappear.

I hope that makes some kind of sense. I think if you work on your flow a little bit, maybe experiment with timing and emphasis on certain words so it doesn't sound so monotone, that would help a lot. You could also do a bit better with the beats, although this one was okay and seemed to match sometimes. Sorry I realize this criticism is really vague, but I hope it helps. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll keep getting better anyway, this one was a lot more enjoyable than the last one I heard of yours.

Luke responds:

Thanks for the input man.. I'm glad you take the time to check out most (if not all) the tracks I have uploaded on here.

This track was made in less than 2 hours really, it was just something quick I threw together.
I'm glad it's better than the last you listened to because it's one of my newer, actually it IS my newest besides one that is in the making at the moment and having a lot of work put into it by my friend Slaughterizer who is another rapper. Keep your eyes peeled for that track if you will, all input is very appreciated.

I totally understand what you're saying and all criticism is put to use one way or another.. I understand I lack flow and I can only get better at that the more I practice, so in time I will have gotten better.. I'm sure you can tell the difference between my flow on a faster song compared to a slower one, you've reviewed Emo Murder Cru if I do remember correctly, and I remember your review being a lot better about that track, so I'm sure you know what I mean when I say I rap better fast than I do slow.

Thanks again for the criticism, review, etc etc. It's good to see people regularly checking out my music and giving me their input on it. Like I said, any criticism will only make me better and I appreciate all the honesty in your reviews.

Wow

I know this is old, but I found this by clicking 'random audio' on a portal player submitted in the flash portal. This track is really great. It's so perfect it makes me want to create a fun RPG game just to use this. I can totally see this in a Final Fantasy game, or some other similar game.

The melodies are all just great, you were really creative with the notes and I'm curious as to what program you made this with. Honestly, I downloaded this because it really is that great.

With all the trendy trance stuff that's around nowadays it's nice to hear some chill electronic tracks like this. Amazing. Keep up the good work.

Ableton Live 6 & the M-Audio Ozone Keyboard.

Wow

It's a shame this never received a review. I found this with a portal player clicking random audio submission. Obviously this is 7 years old, and I doubt you're even an active user anymore, but I feel the need to write at least one review...

The song itself is nice. It's pleasing to listen to and actually pretty catchy. I think the vocal effects you added are pretty cool and seem to blend well with the song. They're very different, as with most of the song. It has a really unique sound rather than all this random trance stuff that seems to be coming in by the masses. Just a cool electronic track and I love it.

None of the synths and melodies you used are overused at all, and the main melody is really fast paced and catchy. The drums are pretty basic, but not too repetitive either. I also like the bass you added towards the end.

Overall a great little catchy electronic track. Keep up the good work...erm...that is if you even still make music anymore. You have a lot of potential and it's a shame that in 7 years time nobody even took the time to review this and you don't have any other audio submissions.
