I win =)

Not a bad tower defense game, especially not bad for your first game. I think the music track is good, but not really very game oriented. Maybe an ambient electronic track would be more appropriate.

The drawings are mediocre, and could use some improvement. Maybe some cool transparent roads like the game 'Ghost Hacker'. Check that out if you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a beautiful looking tower defense game.

The game mechanics seemed okay, although I pretty much had to plaster the entire road with freezers, but by the end of the game it was pretty much plastered with everything. I like the little torch too, lol. Small, but effective when the enemy is frozed.

Not a bad first game at all, mate. Keep up the great work.

I'll check out that Ghost Hacker game. Maybe use some of its features in the updated version of this game. Thanks for the helpful input.

Close...

It's always a tragedy to see games like this that are so close to being great but with a few major issues holding them back.

The game looks great, I have no issues with the design, menu setup looks good, and the gameplay concept is good - but for me the game's engine just doesn't really hold up to it. It feels too choppy and more of a task than fun to get anywhere. There's a balancing act with stuff like this you have to take into account. If the aiming is shit and you know it, then don't make the game hard. Give the enemies less health so it's easier to get somewhere.

I had the same issues as most others with the cursor going off screen repeatedly, which was mainly due to the fact that it seems the cursor is above the crosshairs. Why not make them the same?

The firing seemed a bit odd as well...there were like two crosshairs and it was difficult to see where I was shooting exactly, but for the most part it was manageable.

For the most part it just seemed unmanageable. The aiming was odd and the gun I was given felt underpowered against the army of asteroids and ships that were attacking. I see where you were going with the gun overheating, but like I said before it's a balancing act between the game mechanics and the difficulty. If there's any issue with aiming or shooting, take the difficulty down a notch at the very least so the game feels manageable. I think if the enemy ships didn't have such a ridiculous amount of health that this would have been far more enjoyable for me.

My totally honest advice would be to beef up the gun a bit or reduce enemy health, and maybe take a look at the crosshair/aiming issue. I think with those two things tweaked, this game would be a real winner. Overall I just had an 'uncontrolled' feeling of the ship and that's why I didn't enjoy it as much. Hope this helps.

Flash can't control the position of the mouse so not much can be done about going off screen.
The cursor movement is relative to the change of mouse movement. Strapping the cursor to the mouse position very quickly highlights the reason I don't do that - you'd always have to drag the mouse around int he direction the ship is moving for it to stay still.

Never thought about the hp on enemeis actually. The insane hp on enemies feeling is probably a knockon effect from the bad aiming. You can actually hit them a lot earlier then you probably realise/are able to. I guess it's an alternate quickfix before completely fixing the aiming though!

Cheers.

Very weird

A very strange game indeed, but done decently I might add. The gameplay is rather simple, although I kept mixing up C and X during the races and yelling at myself for doing so. The storyline is rather strange, but it works well with the weird characters and npcs. The characters themselves look like bugs...

Although I couldn't make much sense out of most of what was going on, it did keep my attention. The game was well equipped with medal points to earn for accomplishing challenging yet not too difficult to achieve tasks. The menu screen was well thought out and listed the medal for the level you played.

Overall I really don't have much criticism for you besides the fact that the drawings seemed a bit amateur. The game was totally functional and winnable. I guess a proper ending sequence would have been nice. Keep making these, you've got a knack for weird shit. We like weird shit here.

Not bad

FOR PAR 0 LEVELS - You must remove the gravity well before the level is over to be under par. Just double click the gravity well. I only include this because I see a lot of people confused about it, just as I was. There was nothing helpful in the reviews that I found, I just used trial and error...

An enjoyable game, with lots of challenging medals. I've managed to get all of them except the last two par medals. So far I've done about 10 levels under par, and they really weren't that bad so far. The music is soothing, and the track really fits the game perfectly. I swear I hear a bit of a star trek reference in that song...

The sound effects are appropriate for the game. This game reminds me of like a great NES or Atari game that just came out a bit too late. The concept is good, and the levels are really well thought out. The user made levels and level creator was a fantastic idea - I still have yet to create my own level, but I played the custom levels that you made in the user level section. I can totally tell that you made them, because they're just like the ones in the game, lol. There's tons of creative levels in there - the only drawback being super laggy gameplay when people throw a ton of stuff into a level. 100 votes was a bit harsh too, but I managed to get through that.

Overall the game engine is good, the different planets and moons look good, the black holes are well animated and the physics seem to have a decent method to them.

I suppose the games biggest downfall on here is the lack of more in depth instructions. It seems like a lot of people just get confused and give up too hard and write "level 2 is impossible" or something ridiculous like that, so some more tutorial levels couldn't hurt.

I wish that when you were under par in all three categories that there were a marking of some sort to denote that. Maybe the planet could glow gold or something?? After you beat the game the "next level" button no longer works, and just takes you back to level 1 each time, so it's hard to complete all the levels under par when I have no way of keeping track of what level I'm on and what levels I've already done...not easily anyway...I also read that you have to get all the levels under par in ONE SITTING in order to unlock the medal for it. Can you clarify this? If so, is there a workaround? That's far too much work for one sitting for me...

Anyway, the main menu was well thought out, and the small diagram of the level layout in the upper left was a good idea. At least that gives me some sort of bearing on what I need to do next, plus the main menu screen just looks cool. I love these kind of pixel games, and I think you did an excellent job - minus the few things I mentioned that I think should really be looked into. Keep up the great work.

Brilliant

I don't think this is one of those games where you sit down for a bit and beat it and move on. I think this is my 3rd time coming back to my saved file, and I finally managed to get all three secret areas, and all of the gems - amongst all the chaos that insued. The coding effect of the glitchy surroundings and music was great. I mean, it was difficult to play, but when I finally got 27 and it turned into atari-looking super basic graphics, I was just totally mindfucked by that point. The music didn't help, lol. It wasn't even relieving at that point, just more of a scared feeling like GET ME OFF THIS PLANET!!

The game does a good job of having an almost eerie and abandoned feel to it. The music suits it very well, and when it starts to glitch things get really weird. Most of the different tasks I had to complete were fun. Some of them tricky, but they seemed to have ranging difficulty. Some you had to sit and look at the map for a second and think, "okay...how the fuck am I going to drop down from there??" It kept me entertained for quite some time.

Overall I think this is a brilliant game. One of the best I've played here at newgrounds. The main character is a likeable, nameless, totally devoid of character, astronnaut - and you're deserted on a creepy planet with no other choice but to collect gems in difficult to reach places to fuel your ship. As you collect these gems, the world grows more and more unstable, until it almost collapses into nothing...a world devoid of any detail...and at that point you can't even use 'warp to ship'. Just brilliant.

I enjoyed it very much, and I look forward to playing any other games you submit. This and depict1 are among my favorites here. Keep up the amazing work, and make sure to add some medals to your next game as well =)

Great

What a great game. The concept seems totally original to me, and all the different mini games are great in one! I tried to go fast and got 310 seconds, so no clue how 150 is even possible...especially with the ninja throwing one...maybe I'll have to watch the walk-through sometime.

The art is great for the whole game, and the animation is flawless. The game was well put together and flows to more difficult levels well. The medals were a great touch, and the music fits the game perfectly. The sound effects were all very appropriate, and overall the game was fun to play. Please make more of these.

READ FOR MEDAL INFO

Can't get enough is picky, you have to click 'continue game' to get it. I was at the boss and it wouldn't let me do it, I had to start a new game - and then make some progress - and then come back. Upon returning to your saved progress, you unlock the medal. Hope this helps you guys - it does work.

The game itself is great. I really love the style, I just think you could have done more with the story. The gameplay is fun, and easy to pick up. The whole mood of the game is great, and the art is nothing short of spectacular. The animation is all very good, and the sounds are very appropriate. The music is good, however I think the game could have used a different tune for the boss...

The medals were certainly a nice touch, and I hope that you continue to utilize them in the next blob game. This game has serious potential - like I said everything about this game I enjoyed, except the fact that it was so short and lacking any real depth. If you expand upon this...this could seriously be some top 50 material. I mean, look at the score with what you've already got!

Keep up the amazing work.

Nice

Awesome. I can't give games like these enough praise. It's a nice little RPG style game that's not fast paced, has people to talk to, quests, powerups, and a nice little story. What more could I ask for? Medal points. Oh, we have those here too. How about a longer game and replay value? Oh, there's 4 different endings it looks like. You got me. I got nothin.

The graphics are mediocre at best. They aren't flashy at all, but they suit the submission so well that that it doesn't even matter. Right off the bat the game is fun, you get hooked immediately by getting a few powerups and after that it's all over. The game didn't have a lot of animation either, but focused more on creative backgrounds and interesting worlds. Fantastic.

The gameplay is nothing short of awesome. I suppose I could complain about not having alternate controls where pressing 'up' can jump...but it wasn't nearly inconvenient enough to be an issue. Only a preference...The music selection for the different worlds was extremely appropriate, and I didn't find it annoying at any point in the game at all. The tracks were ambient and pleasant, and I enjoyed them, especially the nice underwater tune. The sound effects were also appropriate.

Overall a must play game. I'm assuming that the 4 secret medals are 4 different endings, but I could be wrong. I can see how to get two of them, but no idea on the others...even searched on google :D No dice though.

Keep up the great work.

Bleh

To put it as kindly as possible, I'd say it's incredibly boring. I see you've added some music, made some changes here and there, and that's good. It really is. I can only imagine what the game was like when Jolly initially reviewed it, because he's a good guy, and I'm sure that was all true. Based upon reading his review, you've made some serious changes, and it made the game a lot more playable.

Things I've noticed:
1) The ball starts off incredibly slow. I read that before it started off too fast, perhaps there is a middle ground here? It was also at a very strange angle as well.

2) The high score table is pointless, basically. It's not only solo pong, but solo scored. I know a lot of game here use a certain high score table that includes everybody. Now, I can't comment on how to add this, as I am not a flash artist, and this game is probably better than I could do myself, but I would seriously consider figuring that out. At least then, we could all compete for high scores everywhere. Now that's some motivation.

3) I know it's your first flash and your using games factory, but the game isn't very rewarding at all. I don't fully understand the limits of the program, but I can tell you right now that this doesn't keep my attention very long at all. You want a feeling of excitement and accomplishment when you play a game, and this really doesn't fulfill either of those needs.

As far as pong goes, I'm sure you're pretty limited. The best thing you could possibly do with a pong game is to make the other paddle the computer, so you at least feel like you're playing someone. That and the high score table that includes everyone I mentioned before.

Other than those things, it's all you. For a first attempt, I'd say the revised version is playable. It's not overly horrid looking, and the music is pleasant. It needs some work still, but at least it's functional.

Keep it up, you'll get it.

Nice

I enjoyed this much like the other one. The concept is great, and I think you executed it really well. Some of the things you added in the 2nd one I think made a lot more sense than this one, so I can tell you've improved - which is good to see.

Much like the second installment, the icons and interface were very well done. The background music is pleasant, and the sound effects are very appropriate.

The medals were a nice touch, although the ending medal doesn't work. I'm using Chrome and haven't had many other issues with any other medals. I've refreshed the page quite a few times, made plenty of other matches so it resends the game winning message, and still nothing on the final medal. I've PMed the Medal admin before with no response about issues of this nature, so there's nothing I can do on my end about it, other than tell you I got hosed on my 50 point medal for winning the game.

Other than that issue, a great game, and I hope you continue to make these with new and interesting ideas. Keep up the great work.
