Love it

Honestly, I fucking love it. The bass line is disgusting, and although I would have never guessed that Willy Wonka would work well in a song, you pulled it off.

I think the chick screaming was a bit ridiculous and uncalled for, but other than that I'd feel bad not giving this a 10 because I thoroughly enjoyed it ;) The atmospheric noises at the beginning are sick, and the percussion is sick. This is indeed one of the sickest tracks I've heard on NG and it's mostly due to that dirty bass line. Every part of it was just awesome, and I can tell you've improved this vastly from the other version I listened to, and I like the changes a lot.

The "you get....NOTHING!" is pretty hilarious as well, lol. Fantastic work m8, keep it up.

Downloaded. 5/5. 10/10. Faved.

Awesome

I love the mix, from the piano at the beginning, the mild tempo percussion after that, all the way into the crazy IDM elements.

The melody progression seems to flow well, although I think you could have cleaned up the sound of the percussion a bit. At times the percussion sounds a bit low quality, but other than that I really don't have any other criticism for it.

Great tune overall. Keep up the amazing work.

Thank you for reviewing my request

I really love it when you guys review for the people :)

also, I think the drums sound a little bit low quality due to the Massive amounts of effects I've put on them. I'll try to find a way to lessen the spam lol.

Very good

Pretty epic sounding indeed. It sounds like it would fit very well into a movie. The percussion was mixed very well and has a professional sound to it. It has a very powerful feel to it, very uplifting.

You're a fantastic composer. I have literally no criticism for this song. The only way I think it could have been better was if it was longer and had an even more epic climax to it. I mean, there's always room for improvement, but as a piece the way it stands, it's fantastic.

Keep up the great work.

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thanks for the compliments. I think longer doesn't always mean better. I prefer not to make my songs any longer than 4 minutes. That way, the song doesn't get boring/repetitive after a while.

Thanks for the review!

Not bad

As usual, your composition is fantastic, however, I must be honest with you. I've noticed that a lot of your compositions have a tendency of sounding too generic. I'm not sure if it's just the software you use or what, but the instruments you use always SOUND computer generated, and to me that's their biggest downfall in my personal opinion. If you could find some better instruments I would honestly find your music far more pleasant, as your composition skills are excellent.

Now that that's out of the way, the song here is great. It flows very smoothly and sounds very calming - almost sounds like a 16 bit song to me lol. Other than the fact that it totally sounds computer generated, the melody is great. I like the song name as well :)

Keep up the good work.

Thanks alot for the nice review!

Thanks for the nice words, goes right to my heart. :)

The reason why they sound so generic sounding is because I don't use a sequencer to write my pieces, rather a notation software, wich doesn't really let me choose the sounds, since it can only use the sounds generated by the computer, since he's the one playing it.

Other than that, thanks again for all the nice words!

Not bad

I enjoyed listening to the melodies, but I did hear a few mixing issues especially in the beginning. It seemed to level out later in the song for some reason though.

Idk about it being action music as tempo doesn't quite seem fast enough for that to me. I think you could certainly use a bit more volume on the drums though. The bass and guitar sounded alright to me, it just needs a tad bit more drum. (More cowbell!)

The song was actually quite long which was nice, and it didn't seem to get stale throughout the whole song.

As for the theme, Victory seemed to be an appropriate title in my opinion. It seems like a victory song, and not an actual fight song to me. The tempo and intensity for an actual fight just doesn't seem to be there for me - this strikes me as the moment of glory after the fight is over for reasons I can't really seem to explain, lol. I think if you sped up the drums though it would probably get more of that mood.

Fantastic intro btw. Good tune overall. Keep up the great work.

I am very grateful and honored that you've graced and meticulously reviewed my work. I treasure all of my listener's ideas.

Thank you very much!

Nice

I like it. It's a nice little relaxing tune, albeit not very long.

I think the instruments you used sound great and I honestly have no complaints about them. The bass has a nice deep sound, and the synth has a nice resonance to it.

Overall I bet you passed the class ;) Let us know what grade you get, lol. Great tune m8 - keep up the good work.

Birdinator99 responds:

Thanks, although I must point out that synth is actually a guitar!

Yeah, the semester's almost over; things are looking good.

Not terrible

I'm surprised how long this is, and I wasn't aware that drum and bass was a genre you even worked within, but I am impressed with what you've done here.

The beginning sounded a bit amateur and over repetitive at times, but as the song progressed it sounded like you added some new things and did a bit of experimenting and it started to go in the right direction.

I laughed when I read SCTE3's comment, "Kind of get a feel like I'm on some sort of space station quickly hunting for someone before they destroy the ship." That seems to fit the second half of the song really well.

I think the rhythm that eventually fades out and ends the song is probably my favorite. Overall it's a decent listen, and I'd love to hear more drum and bass from you.

Ugh

Whoever decided that the backspace key should be a hotkey for "back" in the browser should be killed. Gotta retype my review :(

The song sounds like it could use a bit better EQing, but other than that it musically worked very well.

As far as effort goes though, your effort is certainly noted. It obviously shows that you put a lot of time into this and I think the end product is rather good.

I can see a few points in the song where it didn't really flow as well as I would have wished it did, and also a few parts where it just seemed like treble overkill and wasn't really pleasant to listen to.

I think you could clean it up a bit with some more mixing and it would be a lot better, either that or invest in some better recording equipment.

Overall it's an alright song though.

Twone responds:

I recently got Protools so future works can be edited more cleanly. I've noticed comments about flow of the song, so that's going to be noted for future works.

Thanks so much!

Awesome

Well the effort truly shines right through this one, a full eight minutes long is nice to hear. The vocals add an amazing touch to the song and were definitely a good decision, in my opinion. They give it a very professional sound.

The synths themselves sound good, and the melodies were well thought out and flow well.

The percussion sounds a bit trendy and trance for my liking, but it did work well with the song. It just sounded a bit...last decade to me...

The glitchy part was a great idea, and it worked...ok. I don't think it flowed as well as an AFX song would with glitching...I mean the sounds were cool, they just didn't musically flow that great. It did sound good nonetheless though.

Overall it's a great tune, just pointing out a few minor things I noticed. Keep up the great work.

Nice

Impressive as usual Mobius. I turned this on and started playing a game, like 5 minutes later I'm thinking, "good god how long is this song?" lol. Just over 6 minutes. Very nice.

Seems kinda like the same style as flash frozen, although I must admit I do like flash frozen a bit better. Smooth and calm, yet upbeat at the same time. You do it well, lol. This one does sound a bit more trance and less dnb. I think you should do more dnb personally. You're really good at it.

The intro to this one was really calm sounding and was done really well. The percussion around 1:38 was perfect. It hit really hard but kept the calm atmosphere going at the same time. To be honest, I was playing Minecraft listening to this, and when you walk the guy walks exactly to that beat, it was actually kinda funny.

My only real gripe with this song is the crazy sounds at 2:30. Whatever crazy synth that is, I didn't care for. It just kinda sounded like it didn't belong in such a calm song really. The more calm electronic noises there were good however.

Other than that a good song though. Keep up the great work. 5/5 9/10 Downloaded.

Hey thanks for the in-depth review - always count on you man! I agree, DnB is definitely my style of choice, I'm still learning though. We'll see what the new year brings!
